Our company is lead by Dr. Samarth Chandra. He did his B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) and then studied Statistical Physics for his Ph.D. at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. His Ph.D. work centered on spin glass models which are closely related to neural networks used in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence.
He worked as a researcher at National Institutes of Health (NIH) near Washington DC, USA. (Just as NASA is the main US Government agency for space research, NIH is the equivalent US Government agency for medical research.) At NIH he worked in the brain research group with medical scientist Dr. Barry Richmond, M.D. (Neurology). He used ML/AI models to interpret data on monkeys' behavior as well as electrical signals from single cells in the brain and created data analysis pipelines for the same. He participated in design and development of surgically implanted devices. His experiments measured electrical signals from single cells in brain of live monkeys and he learnt to perform neurosurgery on monkeys. He also trained in clinical research and received NIH's Clinical Research Curriculum Certificate with Commendation. He also took this opportunity to attend courses (including exams) by leading researchers on pharmacology, immunology, microbiome, bioinformatics and trained in experimental techniques in molecular biology, stem cells, sequencing and flow cytometry.
